Privacy Policy

DayWall (“we”, “our application”) provides a calendar wallpaper service that uses your Google Calendar data to generate images. This policy describes what Google user data we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and how we protect it.

What Google user data we collect

The Google user data we collect is limited to what is necessary to provide the service:

  • Google account: When you sign in with Google, we receive and store a refresh token so we can access your calendar without asking you to sign in every time.
  • Calendar data: We request read-only access to your Google Calendar. We receive event and calendar list data only to display your calendar view and generate the wallpaper image.
  • Settings: Your preferences (time zone, layout, colours, etc.) that you set in the app are stored on our servers and linked to your account.

How we use Google user data

We use your Google user data only to provide and improve the application’s functionality:

  • To display your calendar events and calendar names in the app and on the generated calendar image.
  • To keep your settings consistent across your web session and PNG/WebP export.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, analytics beyond service operation, or any purpose other than providing the DayWall calendar wallpaper service.

Sharing, transfer, and disclosure

We do not sell, transfer, or disclose your Google user data to third parties. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than operating the service (e.g. data is stored with our hosting and database provider to run the application).

Cookies

We use a session cookie so you stay signed in when using the web app. This cookie stores only a random session identifier; it is HttpOnly (not readable by JavaScript) and is used only to associate your browser with your account on our server. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking. The cookie is cleared when you sign out or when you delete your data.

Data storage and security

User data (tokens, settings) is stored in a database. We use security procedures and industry-standard practices to protect the confidentiality of your data. Connections to our service use encryption (HTTPS). You can stop using the app and revoke access in your Google account at any time.

Retention and deletion of Google user data

We retain your Google-related data (refresh token, settings linked to your account) for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of all your data at any time:

  • Sign in to DayWall, open the Account & PNG Access section in the settings panel, and click Delete User Data.
  • Confirm when prompted. This action is irreversible: we will permanently delete your account record, stored tokens, and all saved settings. You will be signed out.

After deletion, we no longer hold any of your Google user data. You may sign in again with the same Google account to create a new account; it will start with default settings.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page. If we change how we access, use, store, or share Google user data, we will update this policy accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
